the masterplan for the new municipal centre is based on the three dimensions of depth level (underground / overground), of the layer height (skyline/landscape) and of the surface extension (foreground/background).

the project crosses them with the infrastructural (roadway), structural (bridge), urban (place), architectural (space) and physic – perceptual (pathway) theme.

the physical-perceptual connections transform architectural design in a new urban landscape characterized by a multiplicity of variable diaphragms.
the typological concept translates the “baglio” blocks, present in Borgo Ulivia.

the masterplan reiterates them as contemporary courtyard blocks on a bridge structure, connecting the two rips, the neighbourhoods and the system of the potential ecological corridors through the figure of the path.

the project traces the elevations of the neighborhoods and transforms them into architectural-urban connections, representative of the morphological and typological characters of the area.

so a series of horizontal bridged blades, transfigure the vertical blades of the Bonagia-Falsomiele neighborhood into horizontal ones and are built as suspended (Borgo Ulivia) crossing blocks facing each other and the tree-lined ring road.
